ABOUT

Hi, I’m Patricia Hernandez, a Latine Indigenous diaspora contemporary artist and the founder of PATL.SV, based in Atlanta. My work is shaped by lived experience, cultural memory, and the realities of migration, single motherhood, and mental health. I approach my practice as a form of visual storytelling that reflects both personal and collective identity.

I create bold, emotionally grounded work through painting and public art. Using figurative forms, layered color, and symbolic elements, my work explores resilience, belonging, and connection. My visual language draws from my Salvadoran roots, Mexican aesthetics, and my children’s Puerto Rican heritage. I’m interested in how art can live in public space as a shared experience, offering moments of recognition and reflection across cultures and communities.

My practice includes murals, commissions, exhibitions, and community-based projects throughout Georgia and beyond. I’ve collaborated with organizations and brands such as Midtown Alliance, Fair Fight, Ser Familia, Living Walls, Mailchimp, and Emory Hospital. I see art as a tool for connection, advocacy, and visibility, especially when it exists outside of traditional gallery settings.

I’m also the founder of Nuestra Creación, a nonprofit supporting Latinx, Indigenous, and BIPOC artists that recently became a 501(c)(3). My goal is to build a sustainable creative practice that creates access, amplifies underrepresented voices, and contributes meaningful visual work to the spaces and communities it serves.
