Patricia Hernandez is a Latine Indigenous diaspora contemporary artist and owner of PATL.SV, based in Atlanta, GA. Her artwork and illustrations are a vivid fusion of her cultural heritage and personal experiences, weaving together elements that celebrate her culture, ancestry, single motherhood, immigrant journey, and mental health advocacy.
Patricia’s art incorporates traditional figures, landscapes and shapes, often portraying strong women and highlighting pressing social issues. Her unique style blends traditional painting techniques with a modern sensibility, resulting in abstract compositions that are both visually dynamic and emotionally resonant. Characterized by bold brushstrokes and expressive color palettes, her work captures a sense of movement and energy, while exploring themes of identity, memory, and emotion. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant landscapes of her native El Salvador, the rich aesthetics of Mexican culture, and honoring her children’s 1/2 Puerto Rican ancestry, Patricia incorporates patterns and textures that reflect her Indigenous roots while staying true to her artistic vision.
In addition to her abstract work, Patricia's portraiture captures the essence of her subjects, imbuing them with strength and resilience. Her artistic repertoire includes murals (both large and small-scale), illustrations, commissions, gallery exhibitions, and live paintings. She has showcased her work throughout Georgia and across the United States, continuously pushing boundaries and exploring new mediums with the support of her community.
Beyond her art, Patricia is a cultural organizer dedicated to uplifting the local creative community. She has collaborated with organizations such as Midtown Alliance, Fair Fight, Ser Familia, Living Walls, Dashboard, and more, along with corporations like Mailchimp, Off Da Record, and Emory Hospital and the Consulate of El Salvador and Mexico. Her artwork serves as a tool for fostering connection, raising awareness, advocating for mental health, and amplifying BIPOC creatives. Patricia is particularly passionate about making art accessible as a sustainable career path. Pati has been awarded as the first Indigenous/Latina resident artist for the first Midtown Alliance arts in residency (2021–2022) and a cohort artist for Paint Love (2022–2023).
With a strong foundation in community engagement, she has led numerous workshops, fostering creative expression and empowerment among underrepresented groups and uplifting her community and small local businesses. As the founder and curator of Nuestra Creación, which this year, she achieved a major milestone by establishing the organization as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit., Patricia has cultivated a platform for Indigenous/Latinx and BIPOC artists, securing funding and opportunities for emerging talent. Through her art and advocacy, Patricia continues to bridge cultural heritage and identity and create inclusive spaces for artistic growth and social impact.
HOBBIES…Outside of her professional work, Patricia enjoys parenting, salsa dancing, mezcal, singing karaoke and exploring new creative outlets like tattooing and DJing. She remains deeply engaged with her community by participating in markets, hosting events, and speaking on panels. Drawing inspiration from contemporary art, music, popular culture, and nature, Patricia creates sustainable merchandise to support her vision of growing PATL.SV into a stronger art brand. She dreams of collaborating with larger companies that share her mission to amplify voices and stories through art.
